Team USA has just finished off a great run at the 2015 IIHF World Championship in the Czech Repiblic with a 3-0 win over the host country in the bronze medal game.

While this was no 1980 Olympics, but the American squad did not have very high expectations heading into the tournament.  Their roster was made up of mostly NHL prospects and depth players from around the league.

The goaltender trio of Jack Campbell, Alex Lyon and Connor Hellebuyck had a grand total of one game of NHL experience and yet they gave up just 18 goal on 251 shots.

New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson led the charge with six goals and four assists in ten games.  Top prospect Jack Eichel contributed with two goals, including a game winner in overtime, and five assists. Former Blackhawk Ben Smith added two goals.  Jeremy Morin played in all ten games but he did not register a point.

A great run, for sure! USA! USA! USA!
