Ever since Marc Bergevin left the Chicago Blackhawks franchise to take the job as Montreal Canadiens general manager, Stan Bowman and Bergevin have completed a couple of deals.
Andrew Shaw of course being the most notable, and the now infamous Phillip Danault for Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischman (gulp).
A new rumour has the two possibly connecting again, with the Hawks landing 23 year old forward Alex Galchenyuk.
Going the other way, according to said rumour, Bergevin and the Canadiens would be looking to land Niklas Hjalmarsson.
The deal at first glance might not make much sense, with Galchenyuk a restricted free agent and needing a new contract, and could actually cost more than Hammer's $4.1million cap hit.
Or maybe Galchenyuk accepts a cheaper two year bridge deal and slots in beside Jonathan Toews on the first line.
Either way, looks like we'll hear plenty of Hawks rumours over the next week.
Would you trade Hammer for Galchenyuk who is just one year removed from scoring 30 goals?
