The roster freeze prior to next week’s expansion is now in effect and the Chicago Blackhawks were one of many teams who did not make any moves today.   However, we have heard for over a week about a potential trade between the Blackhawks and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Based on various reports the Blackhawks will be trading Marcus Kruger to Vegas and the Knights will also agree to select Trevor van Riemsdyk with their pick, or vice versa.  However, we have not had any official word on the potential trade as the NHL does not want teams announcing these pre-determined deals on until the day of the expansion draft, this coming Wednesday.

The Blackhawks appear to be abiding the league’s wishes as they have been so tight-lipped about this deal that they have not even let Kruger in on their plans.  At least that is what Scott Powers of The Athletic is reporting.

Marcus Kruger has yet to hear from the #Blackhawks regarding his future, according to a source.
