The first ever Chicago Hockey Charity Classic will be held on Saturday August 5 at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, IL, the home of the USHL’s Chicago Steel.

The game, which will benefit Chicago Special Olympics has pulled in some major star power including Patrick Kane and Vinnie Hinostorza of the Chicago Blackhawks.  Former Blackhawks Ed Olczyk, Dale Tallon, Ben Eager, Adrian Aucion, Sheldon Brookbank and Reg Kerr will take part as well.

Current NHLers who will be on hand include Ian Cole, John Moore, Brandon Pirri and Jake McCabe as well as US Olympians Megan Bozak, Kendall Coyne and Alex Risgby.

“Chicago is a magical city. As soon as we started to plan the event, it all fell into place,” event chairman Topher Scott told the Chicago Sun-Times. “There’s so many good people. The special needs and hockey communities are very similar. Everyone is trying to get involved.”

Tickets are only $25 apiece and the goal is to sell out the 3,000 seat arena to raise $100,000 for Chicago Special Olympics.  You can purchase your tickets by following this link.
