The Carolina Hurricanes can be called Blackhawks South these days with six players on their roster who used to call Chicago home.

One of those players is 2012 first round pick Teuvo Teravainen, who had a career night versus the Dallas Stars on Monday.   Teravainen was traded to Carolina in the summer of 2016, along with Bryan Bickell, for a pair of draft picks.

Teravainen set career highs in games played (81), goals (15), assists (27) and points (42) in his first season with the Hurricanes.  He entered tonight’s game with just three goals through the first 15 games of the season and he doubled his output with a natural hat trick, the first of his career.

Teuvo scored three straight goals in a seven minute of the second period to break a 1-1 tie.

"It was big to have a win tonight," ~Teuvo Teravainen on tonight's game. No. 86 had a natural hat trick tonight. #Redvolution
