The Chicago Blackhawks are used to spending the Thanksgiving holiday on the road. For decades the holiday coincided with the circus’ annual stay at the Chicago Stadium and United Center forcing the Blackhawks on a long road trip.
For the past few years the “Circus Trip” took the Blackhawks to the west coast and they usually spent Thanksgiving in California. The long road trip is a thing of the past, but they will still be out of town for the holiday weekend. This year they will be on the opposite coast in Florida to play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday and the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
Joel Quenneville is not making any changes to his lineup heading into the trip after back-to-back wins over the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins. The power play units will remain the same as well. Ever since removing Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp from the man advantage and replacing them with Gustav Forsling and Cody Franson they have scored three goals on 10 chances.
Here is how the Blackhawks lined up at practice today and how they will start tomorrow night’s game in Tampa:
Brandon Saad – Johnathan Toews – Richard Panik
Nick Schmaltz – Artem Anisimov – Patrick Kane
Patrick Sharp – Ryan Hartman – Alex DeBrincat
Lance Bouma – Tommy Wingels – John Hayden
Duncan Keith – Cody Franson
Connor Murphy – Brent Seabrook
Gustav Forsling – Jan Rutta
