The Blackhawks continue their stretch of five games in seven days by making their first trip to Nashville since they were swept out of the Stanley Cup playoffs last April.  This will be the most difficult and important game of the week.  A regulation win by the Blackhawks will cut the Predators lead over them from six to two points in 24 hours.

The Blackhawks did not have a morning skate after last night’s 7-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks, but we should not expect any changes with the skaters.  We are likely to see Anton Forsberg get the start in net tonight.  If you take away his ugly night versus the Colorado Avalanche where he gave up five goals on 20 shots, Forsberg has a .926 save percentage.

As good as the Backhawks have been of late, the Predators have been even better. Nashville is 9-1-1 over their last 11 games and have won five straight on home ice.  With both teams playing their best hockey of the season right now, tonight should be much more exciting than the first two meetings at the United Center in October.

This will be the 108th regular season matchup between the Blackhawks and Predators.  Patrick Kane has 23 goals and 51 points in 55 career games versus Nashville.  Duncan Keith has 35 assists in 71 games.  Ryan Johansen has goals and 16 points in 23 games versus the Blackhawks.  Meanwhile, defenseman P.K Subban has an eight-game point streak (2 G, 6 A) versus the Blackhawks which dates back to December 5, 2014 when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens.
