Ever since Jason Mackey's story was published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ian Cole has been the talk of the town.
According to Mackey, the Penguins are actively shopping the two time Stanley Cup champ.
Various insiders have been chiming in on the situation ever since the news broke and one threw out the Chicago Blackhawks as a possible suitor.
Even though Mackey mentioned Toronto and Colorado as the most likely suitors for Cole, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman believes both the Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks could be a suitor for Cole being that both teams are actively looking for defense.
The Hawks currently have Duncan Keith, Connor Murphy and Gustav Forsling playing on the left side of the blueline. Cole would be an interesting addition to the mix, however with the Penguins looking for secondary scoring in return, it's unsure exactly what the Hawks could give up.
Or should the Hawks concentrate on the right side of the defense currently featuring Cody Franson, Brent Seabrook and Jan Rutta.
Do you think Cole could give the Hawks a good boost on the blueline?
