A bit of drama regarding one of the Chicago Blackhawks prospects recently.

2018 fifth round pick, Mikael Hakkarainen has decided to leave the Providence College Friars after just one game.

The decision has come based on personal choice.

Hakkarainen will instead return to his USHL team, the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Providence head coach said he was very disappointed in Hakkarainen's sudden decision and added that it had become clear that Hakkarainen wasn't interested in finding a balance between academics and hockey, something that must be done as a student athlete.

After being in North America for four years, it's also feasible that Hakkarainen is setting up a return to his native Finalnd.

Interestingly enough, Hakkarainen isn't the only player to ditch Providence after just one game. Swedish import Calle Ehrnberg also left last week claiming that he was "homesick".
