The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman announced a roster move on Tuesday.
The team has sent forward Dylan Sikura to the AHL in hopes that he can help the team get into the playoffs.
While the Hawks are currently six points out of a playoff spot with three games remaining, Rockford is currently three points out of a playoff spot in the AHL.
Sikura has registered 30 points in 40 AHL games things and actually ranks fourth in goals with 13.
The IceHogs play the AHL's third worst team, San Antonio, on Tuesday.
