Chicago Blackhawks' fans received some great news on Wednesday when Jonathan Toews announced he'd be back for the 2021-22 season.
Unfortunately that's being followed by some bad news.
According to one NHL insider, Duncan Keith's time in Chicago is officially coming to an end.
Elliotte Friedman reports that the Blackhawks are working on a trade to send Keith closer to his family in British Columbia, Canada.
It doesn't mean that Keith will be traded to Vancouver as Friedman also lists the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets and even San Jose Sharks as possible destinations.
Looking to get closer to Penticton, BC, the possibility of the Seattle Kraken also remains a possibility.
Could Keith be the Kraken's first captain?
This will be an interesting story to follow.
There are rumblings Chicago is working on a potential Duncan Keith trade to either the Pacific Northwest or Western Canada. Word is Keith and team are working together to get him to a place he wants to go. We will see where this goes.
