It was the biggest storyline regarding the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2020 season.

The status of captain Jonathan Toews.

He announced at the starting of the year that he would be sitting the season out for health reasons.

Speculation began immediately regarding what it could, however the Hawks and Toews stayed silent.

Now for the first time since last year's announcement, Toews himself has revealed what was bothering him and his status for the 2020-21 season.

Toews says he'll be playing next year and he had Chronic Immune Response Syndrome.

"I'm excited to get back to the United Center to play."

Huge news for the Hawks' and Hawks' fans!!!

More details to come.
