Former Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville told WGN recently that he'd be open to coaching an NHL team as early as next season.

Quenneville should have a couple of positions to interview for during the summer as the Edmonton Oilers, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings will likely look for new coaches and a couple of more spots could open up as well.

The Fourth Period reports that Quenneville likely won't be a fit for any of those spots, however there's one spot that will open in a couple of years that's very interested in adding Quenneville.

According to TFP, the Seattle franchise reportedly has strong interest in adding Coach Q as their first coach. The site adds that it would ultimately be up to the team's first general manager however multiple members of the organization have already pegged Quenneville as their preferred candidate.

It'll be interesting to see if Coach Q will wait it out and take the opportunity when it pops up in a couple of years.
