The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman have worked this summer towards improving their defense and bottom six forward group.
With all the changes, one of their depth forwards decided to take his talents overseas instead of trying to find a new deal in the NHL.
As pointed out by Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, Marcus Kruger has ditched the NHL and decided to sign with the ZSC Lions of the National League in Switzerland.
Kruger only registered eight points in 74 games last year and has never really been able to break through in the NHL.
At 29 years old the Swedish native decided to head back home.
