The Chicago Blackhawks have a pretty interesting prospect pipeline at the moment.
While the majority of the focus sits on the team's blueline prospects, they've got some interesting names upfront too.
One of them is about to get a huge opportunity.
According to Jokke Nevalainen, SM-liiga team Ilves has lost their two top centers for next season which likely throws Blackhawks' prospect Antti Saarela and Montreal Canadiens' prospect Joni Ikonen into the top two roles.
The 18 year old played in 40 games last year and registered four goals and eight assists last year as an 18 year old.
This should be an absolutely huge opportunity for the Finnish native who was the Blackhawks 4th round pick in 2019.
#Liiga team Ilves has now lost both of their top centers in Arttu Ruotsalainen (to the AHL) and Robert Leino (to the SHL). Joni Ikonen (MTL) and Antti Saarela (CHI) have a chance to play a pretty big role next season if they don't add anyone.
