The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman remain busy whether in rebuild mode or contending and it'll be another busy offseason.

One interesting topic that needs to be dealt with is defenseman Nikita Zadorov.

The 26 year old defenseman added a nice physical presence to the lineup that the team doesn't have much of these days and many analysts and fans would like to see him stick around.

Zadorov is a restricted free agent with arbitration rights and is open to sticking around in Chicago after being landed through trade from Colorado last year.

So what kind of numbers is Zadorov hoping to see on his next contract?

According to Blackhawks' insiders Mark Lazerus and Scott Powers, just under $6million a season.

"A source said Nikita Zadorov's camp is seeking five years with a $5.85million AAV (on a new deal). Zadorov (RFA) has arbitration rights, and the Blackhawks don't want it to reach that point."

At the moment the Hawks only have a projected $6.5million of cap space before the expansion draft. They'll likely get a bit more cap space once somebody goes to Seattle.

Would you like to see the Blackhawks' keep Zadorov around at that price?
