Chicago Blackhawks' general manager Stan Bowman's biggest move this offseason was finally landing a reliable backup for Corey Crawford.

Of course there's still plenty of rumors on whether or not Corey Crawford will be ready to start the season, so Bowman signed Cam Ward during free agency.

After 13 seasons and a Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes, Ward needed a new goalie mask design for the first time in over a decade.

Ward used Eye Candy Air's Steve Nash and the results are clean and sexy. The idea of now working with the logos of an original six team excited Nash.

“We were very excited to hear that Cam would be playing in Chicago, an original-six team with rich history,” Nash told InGoal Magazine by email, “But It also meant we would have to redesign his identifiable Blackbeard pirate skull mask as that had historical significance to Carolina. The Blackbeard design had been a work in progress since the 07-08 season so it was going to be a big change for us too. We needed to come up with something that Cam could be easily recognized in.”
