Just a couple of days ago, a huge rumor concerning the Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes blew up the internet.

According to Scott Powers of the Athletic, the Hawks are in discussions to try and land goalie Scott Darling and offensive defenseman Justin Faulk.

A deal that does make sense considering the Hawks need help on the blueline and definitely need a better backup goalie situation then they had last year.

What exactly would go the other way is the question?

There's been some speculation that Artem Anisimov is on the trade block along with restricted free agents Tomas Jurco and Anthony Duclair, however according to Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Hurricanes have their eye on one specific forward.

Lazerus states that the Hurricanes would want forward Brandon Saad in any deal involving Faulk.

While we're sure general manager Stan Bowman would have no problem moving Saad, his $6million cap hit and underperforming 35 points in 82 games last year, it would be a huge blow to a locker room that asked for him back.

Would you move Saad for Faulk?
