The Chicago Blackhawks opened up camp this morning and we've got some news.

Last week forward Patrick Kane revealed that he's currently dealing with an injury. The forward added that he's been dealing with it going back to last season.

Not exactly something you want to hear just a couple of weeks before the season starts.

General manager Stan Bowman spoke with the media today briefly and was asked about the injury.

"Without getting into specifics on it, it's something that a lot of players go through. I would say that that's not uncommon for players to have nagging-type things that come and go. ...

I don't know if it's in Patrick's case, but a lot of players don't want to have surgery. ... It's not something that he's that concerned about. It's just there."

Is Bowman hinting that surgery is an option but Kane prefers not to go under the knife?

It's going to be interesting to follow if this injury hinders his play at all.
